The ETG Tour is an exciting project, offering opportunities not available elsewhere, to generations of company members. It occurs at the end of each year for three weeks in December, with a preview in the UK the preceding week. Last year we visited 11 venues, starting at the European School in Luxembourg then continuing on to a number of schools, universities and regional theatres across Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The tour culminates with a run in the ADC Theatre back in Cambridge during January. In order to support such a tour of this scale, the group seeks sponsorship from companies and organisations that are interested in getting involved with the project. The tour presents excellent promotional opportunities in several areas: we would offer advertising in our programmes, complimentary tickets to any performances, inclusion of company logos on tour merchandise, and publicity in any press releases or similar. Financial sponsorshipThe ETG Tour aims to be completely self-supporting, yet recieves little financial assistance from the University or any other body. As we are a student group with limited funds and wish to provide opportunities to participants at no cost to themselves, we look for help to cover our expenditure. We are therefore seeking sponsorship from companies, including ones in the theatrical industry, at various levels towards the costs of the tour. Technical sponsorshipFrom a technical point of view, the tour is completely self-supporting: with performances in a wide range of venues including a number in which there is no permanent technical equipment, it is necessary for us to tour with complete lighting and sound rigs. As we are a student group with limited funds, we rely on sponsorship by loans of equipment from manufacturers and suppliers to enable us to stage the tour. As set out above, we can offer a wide range of publicity and benefits to sponsoring companies. However we feel the main benefit to you is getting your equipment used in a wide range of venues across Europe and back in the UK, and by people who will go on to be the next generation of lighting designers, theatre managers and producers. Recent ETG company members have gone on to work for various theatrical companies:
