ETG's commitment to education has been central to the tour since it started over 50 years ago. Our mission is to keep the study and performance of Shakespeare accessible, relevant and exciting for audiences in Cambridge and beyond.
Every school we visit receives our Education Pack, bringing together our production and class work on the text. This year, The Tragedy of Richard III has helped students think about Shakespeare's reputation as a playwright, the cult of celebrity, the unnatural attraction of the villain, and Richard as an actor and director.
With discussion topics, dramatic exercises, explorations of Shakespeare’s language, and activities for the classroom, we hope that readers from school children to university academics will find something exciting and engaging.
